【摘要】:Themethodofattachmentofrooftilestotheroofdeck,orsupportstructure,isonefactorintheresistanceofconcreteandclayrooftilestotheactionofwind.Severalsystemsofattachment,andevencombinationsofsystems,areusedintheapplicationoftiletoaroof.Themechanicalupliftresistanceofthetile,whenappliedtotheroofbyanyattachmentsystemapprovedby,andinaccordancewith,themanufacturer''sinstructions,isaprimaryfactorinthetile''sresistancetotheactionofwind.Thistestmethoddeterminesthemechanicalupliftresistancethatisrelatedtoresistancetotheupliftforcesactingasaresultofwind.Naturalwindconditionsdifferwithrespecttointensity,duration,andturbulence;theseconditionsarebeyondthemeansofthistestmethodtosimulate.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaproceduretodeterminethemechanicalupliftresistanceofconcreteandclayrooftiles,whichrelatestothewindresistanceofanair-permeablerooftilesystemasappliedtoaroof.1.2Theprocedurecoversmechanically-fastenedattachmentsystems,adhesive-setattachmentsystems,andmortar-setattachmentsystems,orcombinationsofattachmentsystems,thatareusedtoapplytiletoaroof.1.3Thevaluesstatedininchpoundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesaregivenforreferenceonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
